WinBidPro v15 is the third major Microsoft Windows release of the GDS Storefront Estimating System. Prior to this it was an MS-DOS program, and prior to that a CPM program!

WinBidPro is an entirely new program that keeps the same philosophy and concepts that GDS has always believed in. Our software has always been easy to learn, easy to understand and use, very flexible in terms of adding and changing information, and WinBidPro is no different. What has changed is its ability to handle larger, more complicated jobs, and newer, more complicated architectural systems. The architectural glass industry is evolving, so we must evolve with it!

Does the WinBidPro upgrade Cost Extra?

NO! As a licensed subscriber to GDS software, you are able to download this new v15 software at no additional cost. Your existing license will work with both programs. Of course new customers will need to purchase a subscription.  More Details

1. Fixed problem in Shopdrawing window where elevations would overlap each other. (07-07-10)

2. Parts List Batch Update was fixed so that replacing certain fields with zeros or blank is now working. Replacing with number and text was working fine, but the ability to blank, or zero out the fields was not.

3. Job Notes field in the Final Summary report was cutting off at 276 characters. The report was reformatted to allow for roughly 700 characters.

4. Note fields in the System Defaults window were not wrapping the lines of text that were typed in. These will now wrap the lines.

5. Added code to prevent a \ key in a job name.

6. Added code to create a folder with the job name for the elevation CAD drawings.

7. Add validation for door height & width and door frame height and width. Must be less than 200 inches. This prevents problems with the drawing if mistakes are made with the door and door frame heights.

The WinBidPro v15.2 (SQL) Beta is Now Available!

The new SQL version of WinBidPro will eventually be the only version of WinBidPro that is available. The program itself is the same as v15.1, but the databases used for the vendor catalogs, glass, and system settings are all Microsoft SQL 2005 Express format. These SQL databases are much more reliable, and can hold more information than Microsoft Access databases. In addition, SQL databases are designed for multiple users to share, so performance in this environment will far exceed that of Access databases.

These are the reasons we will move exclusively to SQL databases in the long term. Since we had to change many parts of the program to work with these different databases, we felt it necessary to release a Beta version first. Since most of the program is the same as v15.1, the testing process should be short and sweet. Please use our Support Forum with any questions, problems, or suggestions that you may have for v15.2. With your help, we look forward to the official release of this version, and the eventual replacement of v15.1.
